Blended Wadding Fibres

Hobbs Heirloom Black is a wadding for use in quilts with darker fabrics. It is an 80% cotton, 20% polyester mix. According to Hobbs it maintains loft, needles wonderfully and is colourfast. Approximate loft is 1/8" with shrinkage of about 3%. Maximum distance between stitches is 4" and it can be used for hand or machine quilting.

Combines unbleached cottons (80%) with long staple polyester (20%). Lightly needlepunched and resinated making it easier to quilt by hand or machine. Quilt as close as 1/4" and as far apart as 3 1/2"

Fusible version of the popular Hobbs Premium 80% cotton, 20% polyester wadding.

70% cotton and 30% polyester blended and needlepunched onto a light scrim base. Minimal shrinkage - no need to pre-wash. Stitch up to 12" apart yet remains soft when closely quilted. Created especially for machine quilters; it is excellent for Long and Short Arm machines.

It's PERFECT for low-fat machine quilting in sections -- when you divide the wadding, use Marti's Choice Batting Tape to fuse the wadding together again!

10 Yard roll of 1½” wide cloth tape

It’s not exactly a catchy name for a product, but at least you get an idea of what it does! It’s a quick and easy way to join two pieces of wadding (batting) together. Simply lay the wadding edges together, press the tape over the two edges and fuse with an iron.

If you are using a polyester wadding you will need to use a low heat and test a small area first.
