Liza Prior Lucy. "I have always loved every form of the diamond in a square block. The larger block in this quilt is called 'Economy Patch'. There is very little fabric left over after making this scrappy version. It is good economy!"

Kaffe Fassett. "A vintage quilt in Mary Mashuta's book Cotton Candy Quilts was the starting place for this quilt. I love the scrappiness of it and the strong diagonals that emerge while maintaining rippling vertical stripes, yet another amazing use of simple squares".

Kaffe Fassett. "When I designed the Jungle Stripe print I thought I'd use it in box shapes but I love the way it appears in these large stars. I used the deepest Aboriginal Dots to create a dark sky for my Paisley Stars. I'm particularly thrilled how the framed squares border turned out."

Kaffe Fassett "When I spotted a stunning English quilt (1810-1825) using English chintz prints I wasn't aware it was a snowball block for the longest time. Suddenly I realised the corners were similar prints as the snowball so virtually disappeared, yet there was a pleasing roundness and mirror imagery that kept you looking at the quilt."
