The interior of Rachel's Basket consists of 18 pieced basket blocks that you can make with Set B. The Log Cabin border is cut with our Log Cabin Ruler for 1" and 2" finished strip widths. Make the quilt 72" x 886" or 78" x 94". We recommend using our Diagonal Set Triangle Ruler for cutting the corner and setting triangles.

This fabulous vertical quilt looks difficult but with Seminole strip-piecing, it's not! Use soft romantic colors for a quilt that looks immediately like an old favorite, or jazz it up with 30 prints or create a classic master piece with country colors like Thimbleberries.

Number of 2½" strips: You will need 24 for the Throw (61" x 61"), 46 for the Full (80" x 86"), and 58 for the King (95" x 101")

Pattern suitable for 2 1/2" fabric strips.

This quilt is as simple as a nine-patch, a split rail fence and a setting square. In our sample, we chose the classic combination of blue and yellow as our darks and lights.

Choosing Fabric: You can select 1 dark, such as blue, and 1 light, such as yellow, for a simple three color quilt, or you can use many different darks and many different lights for a scrappy look.

Number of 2 1/2" Strips: You need 12 darks and 8 lights for a Crib, 22 darks and 16 lights for a Lap, 37 darks and 26 lights for a Twin and 47 darks and 33 lights for a Queen. You can use fat quarters without additional piecing. One fat quarter or quarter yard cut will yield the equivalent of 3 strips.

Finished Sizes: Crib- 41" x 58". Lap- 58" x 75". Twin- 75" x 92". Queen- 92" x 92".

Pattern suitable for 2 1/2" fabric strips.

The technique to make the star points is so neat and easy that it is a pleasure to make! Simple and smart, it’s a favorite way to make stars!

Since the blocks finish at 9½", you get a lot of quilt for a little work!
