Using with EQ6 or EQ7

If you have Electric Quilt 6 or 7 software on your computer, you can open any of the Amy Butler projects and use the features of EQ to redesign quilts.

Just put copies of the projects in your PJ6 folder for EQ6. Or open and save the EQ6 project files and save them in your PJ7 folder. This will give you two copies of each project, one to use in EQ and one to use in the Amy Butler Softwares program.

Any changes that you make to the project files in EQ will not be reflected in Amy Butler Softwares program if you open the project files you changed in EQ in this program again.

Simplicity is the keyword for this user-friendly, quilt design software. The program leads you step-by-step through the 1-2-3 process of design-print-sew. Start by selecting a layout style, bed size and block size then recolour, swop, flip or rotate blocks and add borders as you wish. When you are ready print out the fabric yardage estimates, rotary cutting charts and sewing instructions for each block. If you prefer templates or foundation piecing patterns, Quilt Design Wizard does those too!

Quilt Design Wizard doesn’t stop there. Information is included on everything from buying supplies and fabrics to assembly and quilting, to finishing and storing your quilt. Quilt Design Wizard does not offer the complete flexiblility of EQ7, but is nonetheless an excellent tool for both beginners and seasoned quilters who don’t have the time or necessity for a more complex program.

If you want to do pieced and appliqué blocks, draw your own blocks, work with every kind of layout imaginable, color with your own scanned fabrics, audition quilting stencils and embroidery, and more... then you may want to check out Electric Quilt 6 or Electric Quilt 7. Because you can't put your own photos or scans into this program it is NOT suitable for making memory quilt blocks using your own photos.
