Created over 10 year ago, Moon Glow by Jinny Beyer was a 12 block program designed as a patchwork course to gain confidence in colour use and piecing. The blocks become more advanced as the series progresses, teaching a variety of basic skills to raise your skill level as you complete the blocks. It was one of the most popular block-of-the-month programs we have ever run and the quilt remains as fresh and exciting as it did when it first appeared.

RJR, the manufacturer of the fabrics has created a special anniversary kit that includes all the fabrics to complete the quilt, including binding (18 yards of fabric), backing fabric is not included. The kit also includes comprehensive colour patterns and instructions for each of the blocks plus the borders and final assembly. The quilt is made up of fabrics from the Jinny Beyer Palette. The blocks for the quilt can be made using hand-piecing, machine-piecing, piecing with freezer paper templates or paper piecing onto a foundation. Please note that over time the designs in the Jinny Beyer Palette have changed so there may be differences between the images in the patterns and the actual fabrics. However, the colours have remained the same so the final result still gives the fabulous moonglow effect.

Each of the compass blocks is named after the seas of the moon: Sea of Nectar, Sea of Moisture, Sea of Ingenuity, Sea of Tranquility, Sea of Rains, Sea of Fertility, Sea of Vapor, Sea of Clouds, Sea of Crisis, Sea of Serenity, Sea of Knowledge, and The Border Sea.

Please note that this kit does NOT include the backing. Our Spring 2011 Newsletter incorrectly stated that backing was included. All other details are correct - 18 yards of fabric is included to complete the quilt top and binding
