Rowan fabrics produce a huge range of patchwork and quilting fabrics from some of the leading designers in the world. Two of the main fabric ranges that we stock are by the Kaffe Fassett Collective and Amy Butler. The Kaffe Fassett Collective consists of fabric designers, Kaffe Fassett, Philip Jacobs and Brandon Mably.
Kaffe Fassett's designs and his use of colour have made him hugely popular in the patchwork and quilting world. As well as his prints there is also a range of Shot Cotton plains and a collection of Stripes. We feature over four hundred of Kaffe's fabrics on our website.
Philip Jacobs designs are usually based on floral themes and feature bold, larger than life flowers and blooms again with great colouration. They make very distinictive designs but are at home in modern or more traditional quilts.
Brandon Mably has been the manager of Kaffe's Studio for many years and his fabrics feature bright, edgy designs that challenge but which can really set up a modern quilt.
Amy Butler has produced a number of fabric ranges for Rowan and Free Spirit and we stock most of them. Her Belle and Lotus ranges are disappearing fast as the designs are discontinued by Rowan. Her next range was Midwest Modern and this was probably her breakout fabric range. Daisy Chain followed the next year and in 2010 her Love fabric range was launched. Soul Blossoms was the range for 2011, and Lark will be her next fabric range from Amy Butler.
Free Spirit is a companion producer to Rowan fabrics concentrating on new and up-and-coming designers. With fabric designers such as Heather Bailey, Nel Whatmore, Joel Dewberry and Tanya Whelan.
Rowan fabrics is the brand name used in the UK and Europe, in the US the same designs and designers are marketed under the Westminster Fibres brand but the fabrics, the names and the fabric codes are the same. All the companies are owned by Coats Crafts one of the largest craft and haberdashery companies in the world.
