Kaffe Fassett Fabric Collection at The Cotton Patch
Born in San Francisco, Kaffe Fassett settled in England in 1964 and worked as an artist. On a trip to Scotland he stumbled on an irresistible collection of coloured yarns. A few months later he was hooked and proceeded to knit and stitch himself a career.
The Kaffe Fassett Fabric Collection now extends to hundreds of patchwork and quilting fabrics ranging from wonderful woven stripes and checks to bold and colourful prints. The fabrics are produced by Rowan (known as Westminster Fibres in the USA). Since 1999 Rowan has published a series of Patchwork books featuring these fabrics which continue to be revised and updated. You can also find fabrics from two other Rowan fabric designers; Philip Jacobs and Brandon Mably.
Patchwork and Quilting is just one area of the arts and crafts with which artist Kaffe Fassett is associated. Visit the Kaffe Fassett Studio and see further examples of his work involving Knitting, Needlepoint, Mosaics and Painting.

Kaffe Fassett Fabrics
Kaffe Fassett is one of the most renowned patchwork fabric designers in the world, famous for his vivid colourisation of his designs that can make a finished patchwork quilt really stand out. Kaffe's fabrics in the UK are produced by Rowan but in America the brand name is Westminster Fibres, they are both the same fabrics and this is simply the marketing brands used by the parent company of Coats Crafts. Kaffe's fabrics started with G01, his famous Roman Glass design, and each year he adds more designs under the Kaffe Collective Brand. This features Kaffe and fellow designers Brandon Mably and Philip Jacobs. Our fabrics are organised by design or you can browse the entire Kaffe Collective range by colour. Kaffe also designs a range of Stripes, Shot Cotton Plains and Ribbons. We also have a number of Quilt Kits and Fabric Packs featuring his designs.

Quilts from Past Project Books
The quilts shown in Kaffe's earlier project books still look fresh and exciting, but with older fabrics going out of print we cannot make packs using fabrics as they appear in the books. But all is not lost - we can still make these packs for you if you are prepared to make substitutions where neccessary. We stock such a wide range of fabrics you are almost certain to find a substitute for a discontinued fabric.
First check that the fabric pack is not on our website by typing the quilt name into our Quick Search. If it is not on our webiste then follow the link below to download a pdf of instructions on how you select the fabrics that you want and how to order your own fabric pack.
