Amy Butler's new fabric range Lark has just arrived and we have put it straight up. This is Amy's thoughts on her new range.

"The spirit of this collection is inspired by one of my favorite style icons, Maxime de la Falaise. Maxime was chic and eccentric, coming from a bohemian family of artists whose unapologetic passion for art and creativity surely shaped her vision for her life. Lark is filled with my fanciful imaginings of what would have been the makings of her artistic world through her love of fashion, print, travel and exotic friendships. Her playful vision combined all of her favorite collections creating an atmosphere of warmth and spontaneity with just the right amount of modern glamour.

Lark's print combinations have a rich, souvenir feel, lovingly gathered from a life of vivid experience. Glowing colors and velvety combinations of stylized florals are the foundation for perennially chic sewing projects. It's been a total joy creating this collection and I hope Lark inspires you to bring out your inner design maven!

We have a new Ornaments Kit from Rachel's of Greenfield, so that you can decorate your Christmas Tree or mantle piece. Warm wooly mittens keep hands toasty and hearts happy on cold wintry days. Make them for the tree, or fill them (they are perfectly sized for gift cards or other treasures) and give them as special gifts to family and friends. Design motifs include a spicy gingerbread, star-shaped snowman, holly with berries, a jolly Santa, star-topped tree, and an ice skate. Red and green cuffs with embroidery embellishment add charm. HeatnBond Feather Lite Adhesive - 28th October 2011

We have added HeatnBond Featerh Lite to our Fusibles section. HeatnBond Feather Lite is a light weight iron-on adhesive that creates a strong bond without adding extra weight or stiffness. Designs can be drawn, traced or printed and then easily cut out. Once applied it is easy to sew through. Ideal for multi-layer appliques, quilting, wearables etc. Available by the metre, 43cm wide.

Kaffe Fassett’s woven stripes were a perennial favourite until they were discontinued some years ago. Now they’re back with a fresh palette of five designs, each in 6 colourways. As well as the 30 stripes by the metre we have four fat quarter bundles of lovely stripy fabric.

Free Pattern Downloads - 11th October 2011

We have four new free pattern downloads for you that can be downloaded. There are two cushion cover patterns for 75cm and 30cm square patterns. We have made these up using the new Kaffe Fassett Stripes. A Pleated Bag pattern from Rowan with examples using the Home Dec weight fabrics from Philip Jacobs. Finally we have reworked our Scrappy Quilt Pattern to include a Table Runner. The Scrappy Quilt and Table Runner are made using 5" Charm squares. We have made up examples using Nel Whatmore's Happy Go Lucky fabric. Obviously you can use any combination of fabrics that you want in your projects, but we do have some Stripe Bundles of Fat Quarters that include a copy of the cushion cover instructions (see above).

Simplicity Bias Tape Maker - 10th October 2011

We now have in stock the Bias Tape Maker from Simplicity. This Bias Tape Maker, with a built-in iron, will fold and press flat bias strips into single fold bias tape at the push of a button. It is suitable for cotton, silk, light weight wool, light weight Home Dec fabrics and more.
The machine is supplied with tip to make 1” single fold bias tape, but other tips are available that easily snap into place. Of particular interest to patchworkers is the Quilt Binding Tip (10456) that will quickly fold 2½” strips in half to use for binding a quilt. If left on it automatically shuts off after 10 minutes.

The box doubles as carry case with a handle on the lid and it’s lightweight enough to carry to classes. UK Plug

We now have stock of six of the Kanzashi Flower Makers from Clover. These plastic templates help you make the petals of the flower. The same thread is strung through all the petals allowing them to be gathered together to form the petal. Cetral embellishments suchas buttons can be added to complete the flower.
