New for 2019 is Katjas Millie Stars Quilt-Along. Each months pack contains all the paper pieces to complete one star, twelve in total. Each months star is based around a colour and is pieced from solids, tonals plus 1-3 prints, all from one colour family.
The first month also includes a pack of paper pieces to complete the background to the stars so you can be working on this throughout the quilt-along. The background is made up of hexagons, half hexagons and part hexagons in an assortment of low volume prints.
The completed quilt measures 93" x 93½ (236 x 224cm).
It is entirely up to you as to what fabrics you choose. Each star rosette requires a minimum of 60cm in coordinating colours (more is always better!). Because so little fabric is required this project is a great way to use up fabrics in your stash.
The background requires a minimum of 6.1m of contrasting fabrics that let the stars shine. This is based on the assumption that 6 hexagons can be cut from one 42" strip that is 6" wide.
70cm is required for the binding.
A copy of both The New Hexagon book and The New Hexagon Perpetual Calendar are required for the instructions for making the blocks.
