Please note the following regarding the instructions supplied by Makower:
The instructions suggest a 15" cut of the animal circles panel (8051-30). This is very wasteful as it cuts into the rows of circles on either side. The instructions suggest fussy cutting the circle and then appliqueing it using your preferred method to avoid cutting into adjacent cirles. This is the basis on which we are supplying this kit. Our kit therefore includes the following material amendments:

Circle panel: a 11-1/2" strip instead of a 15" strip. The strip still has four complete circles in different designs, including the fox, but does not have enough width for the bag flap. It must be appliqued.
A Fat Quarter (50 x 55cm) of Tonal slate grey fabric (8051-15) instead of a 15cm strip. The extra fabric is for the background for the appliqued circle to make the bag flap. It is the same design and colour as the background to the circles panel.
An additional quantity of medium weight iron-on interfacing to stabilise the circle design before cutting it out.

Please do not choose this kit if you do not want to applique the circle design!

Style-Vil from Vlieseline is a smooth, foamed lightweight fabric for sew-in application. It combines excellent stabilization and cushioning with a very soft hand feel.

Vlieseline Lamifix Matt (per 1/4 metre)

Lamifix Matt is now discontinued.

Lamifix Matt is a transparent, fusible and wet cleanable film. It can be used for fabric bowls, toiletery bags, place mats, bags and other textile crafts. 45cm wide.

How to Use Lamifix:

1. Place Lamifix matt with readable edge print side facing upwards (i.e. so you read it) on the right side of the fabric, cover with
a dry cloth.
2. Iron setting: Wool/Cotton (almost ).
3. Iron on lightly, then cut out precisely.
4. Afterwards cover again with a dry cloth and press on the iron firmly, each area for about 8 sec.
5. Let it cool down well.

Important: Wipe with a damp cloth only - do not wash.

TIP: Start to cut out Lamifix matt from the unprinted edge, so that you can see on the leftover from which side you have to iron.

Vlieseline Fold-a-band White 25mm (per 1/4 metre)

Vlieseline Fold-a-band is also known as Waist Shaper or Bundfix. It can be used for creating bag handles or waistbands for skirts and trousers. The Fold-a-band is 70mm deep with four width measurements of 10-25-25-10 mm. These produce a finished band of 25mm depth.

How to Use Fold-a-band/Bundfix/Waist-shaper:

1. Iron waist-shaper on to the fabric waistband, cut to size, by applying dry heat and pressure for 8 sec.
2. Fold the waistband in the middle and pre-iron the upper waistband edge.
3. Sew the waistband to the skirt (trousers) along the perforated line.
4. Sew the joining edge and sew the turned-over skirt or trousers lining to the waistband – if desired.
5. Then, stitch the hemmed waistband through the seam on the right side.
