Patchwork & Quilting Classes
Patchwork & Quilting Classes
Joy Edgington of www.pasturesnewquilting.com first discovered an interest in sewing as a small child when she made her first appliqué pictures. She became irrevocably hooked by the patchwork and quilting bug over 25 years ago, when she enrolled on a City and Guilds course learning more techniques than she could ever have imagined. Her aim is to share that knowledge and encourage more people to learn this traditional yet enduring craft.
Since 2011, Joy has been working alongside the Cotton Patch to provide a range of Patchwork and Quilting lessons and short courses which are suitable for both beginners and improvers.
To ensure that beginners can learn at their own pace in a supportive environment, she has developed a step by step approach, where individuals can build on their skills and make items that demonstrate the new techniques they have learnt. Classes are friendly and informal and class numbers are kept small so that she can give you plenty of individual help. Testimony to the effectiveness of her approach is the number of ‘serial attenders’ that she has!
Whether you are a complete beginner or a more experienced Quilter you will be able to choose from a range of one day classes, short courses and Block of the Month programmes. The full Class Schedule is updated regularly with new classes and further dates will be added throughout the year.
Classes are held at The Cadet Training Centre which is located approximately a mile from the shop. There are two well-lit classrooms, a fully equipped kitchen and rest area as well as on-site parking for up to 20 cars. If you wish to book a class or discuss any aspect of Joy’s classes, you can contact her through her Contact page or by telephone on 07881 948834 or 0121 474 5968.
