Surface of Beauty

Natasha May Platt is a full-time mural artist working under the name Surface of Beauty. Her murals of vibrant, larger-than-life flowers are found all over the US and internationally in Mexico, Bali and India. Her work celebrates the power of feminine energy and our close connection with nature. She has collaborated with many fashion brands such as Coach, Love Shack Fancy, and Johnny Was, as well as corporations such as Netflix and Apple TV, real estate developers, restaurants, and city governments to create inspiring and uplifting public art for diverse communities.

In her early career, Natasha spent three years working closely with embroidery artisans in Kolkata, India, and she continues to visit India every year to learn more craft techniques. Her use of color and her approach to composition is deeply influenced by the textile traditions of the Indian subcontinent and the precious time spent learning under local artisans.

In her free time, Natasha is a dedicated student of meditation, having completed more than 60 silent retreats to date. She loves to travel, learn new languages, and study traditional medicine and healing practices from around the world
